Crown of Becoming – A Beltane Rite of Sovereignty

A spell to claim your personal power, awaken your inner fire, and honor your path of becoming

You Will Need:

A small mirror or bowl of water (to see your reflection)

A candle (red, green, or gold)

Burn safe dish

A crown (real or symbolic: flower crown, headwrap, ribbon, or even your hands)

Favorite perfume, oil, or herbal mist

A journal or piece of paper and pen

Optional: fresh flowers, music, incense, something soft and regal to wear

Dress up, prepare your royal space., light your candle. Set up flowers, soft fabrics, pillows, incense, music, whatever makes you feel royal, sensual, happy, and powerful. Place your mirror or bowl of water before you.

Anoint yourself with the perfume on your pulse points or anywhere on your body you'd like to bless and say:

“With scent and spirit I awaken my fire. I stand in my skin, sacred and whole. The crown of the May rests on my soul”

Then place your crown on your head, slowly and intentionally and look into your mirror or water. Not with judgment but with honor and reverence. See yourself as sacred, as royalty. The same way as life, as the earth, as the universe sees you. Beautiful, wild, alive. You are a spark of life. a spark of the universe.

Say:

“i am the May Queen

I am the sacred sovereign of my life,

of my own becoming”

Repeat it as many times and as many ways as it feels right. Let the words come. Say whatever comes to your mouth, but make it all reverent and in honor of you

When you are ready put one hand on your heart and one hand on your center, your belly, and say:

“I claim my power, my joy, my voice.

I name myself sovereign by my own choice.

With fire in my spirit and earth beneath my feet,

I grow by my will, and do not retreat.”

On your paper or journal write your goal. What are you sovereign of? What are you growing into this season? Write it as if you already have it.

Examples:

“I bloom in confidence.”

“I have healthy love.”

“My life is filled with joy and wildness and magick.”

“I am free to be who I am becoming.”

Fold the paper and burn it with the candle and place it in the bowl of water or a fire safe dish.

Let the energy go out to the universe to work your will. Thank the energies and place the crown on your altar then eat or drink something sweet, like wine, mead, or tea with honey. Raise it and toast yourself and always remember you are royalty!
